Origins After Action Report

So another Origins Game Fair is behind us!

We hope you had as much fun as we did and if you couldn’t join us this year, our look back at the awesome that was Mayfair Games at Origins should make you eager to join us next year!

Let’s start by congratulating Azrael Spear, winner of the 2012 Origins World-Wide Catan Championship Qualifier! Azrael will be joining us in Valley Forge for the finals!

Then there was the Mayfair pub, where you could have a drink right above our giant games while taking a break from the action.

We ran thousands of gamers through demos, teaching them games they’d never played before, and giving them ribbons for their time! If you’ve never heard of the Great Ribbon Quest, you get a ribbon based on one of the Catan resources every time you play a game demo. Once you have a ribbon of each type you become a Knight of Catan and get a 50% off coupon for a game at the show. Many folks took advantage of this unique opportunity to learn five games and get the one they liked best at a deep discount. Join us at Origins next year and that lucky person could be you!

Lastly, we were super excited to have Wil Wheaton in our Giant Games room Saturday night! Wil and his friend Felicia Day were wowed by Giant Settlers of America but ultimately Wil Settled on Giant Lords of Vegas and had a great time!

In short, Origins 2012 was awesome for Mayfair, and awesome for the many fans that came out to see us. We hope to see you next year!
