Start preheating your oven! It's time for the 2nd Annual Catan Food Contest!

Throughout November and December, Catan players, food enthusiasts and critics, chefs, gamers, non –gamers, and anybody else are invited to join in the Official Catan Food Contest again! We had so much fun last year drooling at the pictures of the Catan food entries, we have decided to bring it back! So gather up all of your grain, start brainstorming, and come join us for the Official Catan Food Contest 2007!

Your task is to come up with culinary spectacles Catan has never seen. Then take up to three high resolution (300dpi) pictures or send us a video of your masterpiece and add some explanatory text (if you can capture sound in your video, then a vocal rendition of your explanation is welcome, but not required). A sentence explanation is fine, but maybe you have a funny story that goes along with the food creation. Make sure that you fully explain what we can see in the pictures of your creation as well, so that we can properly judge each entry. Videos will be uploaded to YouTube for all other contestants to see. Please submit photos, videos and text to following email address: culinarycatancontest@catanllc.com

The deadline for submissions is December 31st!

Last year we received a myriad of different submissions. People sent us cupcakes, cakes, tapas, stir frys, and tarts. While wheat seems to be the preferred food source, feel free to explore other paths. Sushi Catan? Catan nachos? Sure, why not. Do whatever you like, as long as it is tasteful and has something to do with Catan. Remember that artistic appeal counts and the Catan theme in your creation must be prominent. Your creation should be visually stimulating and evident that it took some time to create.

An experienced team of visual food critics at Mayfair games will look painstakingly at each and every culinary creation to decide the winner. As you can imagine, this will be a painful process, as ever swelling eyeballs, grumbling tummies and mouth watering sensations will accompany the examination process.

The beauty of this contest is that everybody wins! You win automatically, because you will have created something tasty for yourself, your friends and family. We will also send each of the participants a small souvenir!

But there’s also some real stuff to win, of course. The Mayfair judges will select three of the most remarkable Catan food creations. The best three creations will be showcased on our website.
