December is the traditional season of gift-giving. What I like about giving the gift of games is that it is a gift that almost always gives back immediately. After all, it makes sense that we tend to want to give games that we have played and enjoy. Also, it is often easier to learn a game from someone walking us through the rules then it is sitting and reading the rules for ourselves. So not only can we give the gift of a game to a friend or family member, we give the gift of teaching the game. Because most games need more than one player, we can also give the gift of time when we play the game with the gift receiver. And this is when the gift giver gets a gift back; we get to play a game that we love with the people we like. That is, in my opinion, the perfect gift.
