On Sunday, the doors of the Origins Game Fair are opened to the general public (although badges and tickets are still required for events). In order to help with the feeling of disorientation that some folks might feel, we're offering a seminar specifically designed for first-time attendees as part of our "Mayfair U" track of seminars.

Entitled "Introduction to Gaming 101", this will be an overall presentation about games, game companies and Origins, designed to help folks who are unfamiliar with the gaming scene fit right in on the last day of the show. This seminar is at 11 am on Sunday, June 29 (event 9808), and is free and open to the public. Mayfair U and You!

This year, Mayfair Games is offering a series of seminars designed to spotlight our games in a new and interesting way! Series presenter Alex Yeager, along with other special guests, will be presenting seminars that feature similar mechanics, themes or backgrounds to both introduce you to the games, and make you a better gamer playing them!

This is your chance to learn all about the Empire Builder railroad game system ("crayon rails" to its friends)!

Friday, 4 pm, event 9435 - Mayfair U: The Art of the Deal
We'll look at the wide variety of auction and trading games in our line!

Saturday, 10 am, event 9612 - Mayfair U: Advanced Catan
When the base island of Catan isn't enough, there's lots more to try!

It's okay if there's only two of you to play - find out about our 2-player games!

Games that reward your ability to convert resources and profit are the focus here!

First time at Origins? Let us tell you about all of the fun inside! (This seminar is designed for the general public, as Origins will be open to all on Sunday.)
