As we start to settle in for a couple of months of deep freeze (except for
the Florida and California portions of the company, whose weather we always
did view as a bit unnatural.), it's a good time for us to take a moment and
look back on what we released in 2007. We're very happy with our releases,
and new games like Gangster™, The Pillars of the Earth™, China Rails™,
Before the Wind™, and, of course, The Settlers of Catan® 4th Edition, have
been receiving critical acclaim and the attention of gamers.
Of course, we're still hard at work on our 2008 slate of games, and once
Lascaux™ is out the door and on shelves, we'll have two games for early
spring to get ready:
- Bacchus' Banquet is a game where you are guests at a Roman feast!
Everyone there has different reasons for attendance: some are there to eat
and drink, some want presents, and some are out to eliminate Caesar! This
card game of hidden goals, intrigue and food, from Frederic Moyersoen
(Sabotage, Gouda Gouda!) will be on shelves in late March.
- Monuments, from Stefan Risthaus (Ostia) brings you the ancient
wonders of the world! Build the ancient marvels that have captivated people
for centuries, and then play the historians who bring the builders of
yesterday to the audience of today! This card game challenges you to build
the best (or at least to build a better copy of) monuments, but you also
score points for creating books about the other players' works! Look for
Monuments in early April.
We have so much more planned, and we're looking forward to showing you more
as 2008 rolls along!
