Mayfair Origins Report

     Mayfair is back from a fantastic Origins convention in Columbus, OH! We had a great show and lots of stories to report. The two highlights were "The Great Mayfair Ribbon Quest!" and The Settlers of Catan US Championship. But these were just two events out of many, which generated excitement and buzz for Mayfair at Origins! We hereby would like to thank all of the wonderful people, who came by our booth to participate in the game demos, give feedback, and try their luck at winning a “Catan – 3 D collector’s edition” in the Mayfair raffle. We had a blast and are truly appreciative of all the fabulous support for Mayfair!

     Due to the overwhelming amount of stories to cover, we will provide our “Origins wrap up” in a series of postings. Today’s news post will be about The Settlers of Catan US Championship. Later this week, we will report in more detail about "The Great Mayfair Ribbon Quest," a new program that beat even our wildest expectations. In yet another posting, we will provide more information on new releases, introduced at Origins! Finally, we’ll leak some teasers for future releases!

The Settlers of Catan US Championship!

     The Settlers of Catan US champion is: Scott Scribner from Columbus, Ohio!

     Adam Weisberg from Columbus, Ohio, came in second (6 victory points), followed by Bill Murdock from White Plains, NY, in third (4 victory points), and Willis Beaver from Watsontown, PA, in fourth place (3 victory points).

     All four finalists truly earned their place in the Catan final! They worked their way up from a pool of almost 100 players, who played in The Settlers of Catan Swiss style tournament (4 rounds).

     Congratulations to Scott Scribner, who won a trip to Essen Germany, where he will compete as one of the two US representatives of the United States in The Settlers of Catan World Championship.
