Go Outside in Search of Him
You venture out to find him.
The air outside seems cold. Winter definitely nips at the heels of autumn.
You pause to return to the foyer for your tweed coat to help ward off the cold.
You also take a flashlight from the hall closet.
For a moment, you consider the howl you heard.
There's a gun rack in the library, but none of the weapons in it have been fired in years, although they, like everything in the house, have been well-maintained over the years.
When you were a teenager, your father indulged your momentary enthusiasm for hunting. Like with many pastimes in your youth, your interest waned before you became really proficient with it, but you do know the basics of rifles, though it has been a number of years since you've fired one.
